Shipping & Returns

After your order has been processed and payment approved, your product will ship via common carrier, UPS Ground or USPS unless otherwise specified. Handy reserves the right to change or choose carrier options based on the region and/or requirements of the order.

Shipping Notification

After the product ships, Handy will send an invoice via email to the customer listed on the billing address of each order with shipping information which will contain the carrier name and shipment tracking number. For all deliveries via freight truck, the freight company will assume your business is open and staffed to receive deliveries Monday-Friday during normal business hours. If your business is closed on a specific day during the week, please let us know and we will note that on the Bill of Lading. Where delivery appointments are requested, it will be noted on the Bill of Lading and the freight company will contact the customer. Any and all redelivery charges incurred will be billed back to the customer.

Getting Product off the Truck

Freight deliveries are dock to dock, which means the receiving party is required to remove the product from the truck. Lift gate service is available for an additional charge. If you believe lift gate service is required, contact a Handy sales associate to learn more about the packaging of your order. If requested and paid for at the time of the order or before the order is shipped, lift gate service will transfer the product off of the truck and to ground level at the delivery site. Please note that a lift gate service is considered a “curbside” service. Drivers will not drive down, back down, or pull into a private driveway at your residence for offloading.

Inspecting for Damage

Handy takes pride when packaging your order. When your order leaves our dock, it is in perfect condition. We do not send packages that are torn, scratched, dented or otherwise damaged. Please be sure to check all packages for any potential damage during transit. Handy is not responsible for damaged products due to shipping. It is the sole responsibility of the receiving party to fully inspect the product at the time of delivery for any potential damage. We recommend removing any protective wrapping to fully inspect the product, before the driver leaves. In addition, count the packages and product before signing the Delivery Receipt. The quantities should match what is stated on the Delivery Receipt and Packing List. Anything missing and/or damaged must be stated on the Delivery Receipt taken by the driver.

What to do if Product is Damaged

If the product is damaged in any way, it is best to sign the delivery receipt as “potential damage” and note specifically what the damage/concern is when possible, receive the product from the carrier, and then contact Handy for resolution within 48 hours. Refusing product does not relieve the customer of re-delivery or return shipping costs. If damage did occur during transit, any and all damage must be noted on the Delivery Receipt in detail by the customer and signed by the driver. Handy will file claims for products shipped with their carriers when the product is shipped prepaid and add. If you, the customer, arranged your own freight, you are responsible for filing all damage claims with your carrier.

Additional Charges

Any and all additional charges, such as delivery appointment, lift gate service, inside delivery, change of address, residential delivery, limited access, re-delivery, brokerage/customs fees and storage fees will be the sole responsibility of the customer unless stated in the customer order as part of the shipping costs pre-paid by the customer to Handy at the time of order or prior to shipping your order.

Return Policy

Returns and exchanges of unused Handy products will be accepted within 30 days. Please call Handy for the required Return Authorization number. Products sent back without prior authorization may not be accepted. There is a 30% restocking fee on all returns and/or exchanges. Freight costs on returns and exchanges are the responsibility of the customer. Refunds, minus applicable restock and/or freight charges, will be processed once the return is received and inspected by Handy Industries.
